134 ~ Public Service Announcement: Words (of the subversive variety)

With Arcadia Books, American Players Theatre and a monthly "Night of Words" at Slowpoke Lounge, Spring Green must be one of the world's most literate and literary towns of just 1500 souls (add to that one of the best ice cream shops in the world, Frozen Local, and you really have something; vanilla ice cream with caramelized pear and goat cheese, anyone?).  Fittingly, the town hosts an annual Spring Green Literary Festival. The theme of this year's festival, with events through October, is banned books, music and movies. Call it freedom to nourish the soul as we wish. You can find a list and schedule of events here.

Tonight I'll start by attending a reading of banned poetry at Slowpoke Lounge at 7 pm. I hope to see some of you from the area there. Truth, subversiveness and resistance can be fun.
